22 Finalists Competing for Two $1,000 Grand Prizes
Finalists from seven New Jersey counties are competing in the 2nd Annual Deborah Idol Competition to be held on Saturday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pemberton Township High School Auditorium, 148 Arney’s Mount Road, Pemberton Township.
The full evening of entertainment includes 3-1/2 minute performances in the 10-16 year-old age division and the 17-25 year –old age division. The winner in each group will win $1,000. Additional prizes include $300 to the first runner up and $200 to the second runner up. In addition, the audience gets to vote for their favorite contestant for the “Fan Favorite Award.”
The event, hosted by the Deborah Hospital Foundation, is a fundraiser for Deborah Heart and Lung Center which for 91 years has been a ground-breaking hospital providing the most sophisticated level of care in the country for cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular procedures. Melissa Gorga, as well as starring the TV-reality show “Real Housewives of New Jersey” is a former pediatric patient at Deborah.
Tickets for the Deborah Idol final are $10 in advance or $15 at the door (children under 10 are free) and include the Melissa Gorga meet and greet. Ms. Gorga will be at the Pemberton Township High School from 6:00-7:00pm. The competition begins at 7:00.
