Deborah Heart and Lung Center Welcomes New Cardiologist

John R. Ernst, President and CEO of Deborah Heart and Lung Center has announced the appointment of Jon C. George, MD, of Philadelphia, as Attending in the Adult Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Director of Clinical Research in the Division of Cardiology.

Dr. George comes to Deborah following a subspecialty fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Medicine through Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Cardiology at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. George is currently licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

Voted one of America’s Top Cardiologists for 2009 by the Consumers’ Research Council of America, Dr. George is an established scholar who is published in medical journals. While his clinical expertise involves catheterization procedures, Dr. George has special interest in stem cell research for myocardial regeneration for which he has earned a research grant at Temple University School of Medicine.

Deborah is pleased to add Dr. George to our staff. His knowledge and experience will undoubtedly enhance our already strong team. Outside of Deborah, Dr. George sits on the faculty at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in New Brunswick and Temple University School of Medicine. His wife is currently finishing her residency in Anesthesiology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.
In his spare time, Dr. George
enjoys traveling and photography.
