New Jersey Patients Rate Deborah as the Best Hospital in New Jersey,
Also Ranked Top by NJ’s Doctors


Deborah Heart and Lung Center has been rated as one of the top hospitals in New Jersey as published by Inside Jersey Magazine. The magazine joined with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., one of the nation’s most respected health care research and information companies to poll doctors and patients on New Jersey’s top medical facilities.

NJ patients overwhelmingly ranked Deborah as the number one hospital in the state (among those with fewer than 350 beds). Deborah’s ranking, with an 80% top hospital vote by

patients – as compiled by Castle Connolly Medical with post-discharge data from the independent Improving Healthcare for the Common Good -- was the highest statewide in both hospital category sizes. The next highest rated hospitals were Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and South Jersey Healthcare in Elmer, both with a 75% ranking.

In addition to patients rating Deborah as the number one hospital statewide, they also ranked Deborah as the number one hospital for doctor communication and nurse communication, with both categories receiving the highest percentage points of patient satisfaction found at any hospital in New Jersey.

Besides the superb ratings by patients, New Jersey’s licensed physicians also rated Deborah
among the top in the state.

The hospital tied for third place as the best hospital overall statewide (in its size grouping), and was ranked by doctors as the number one facility in New Jersey for coronary bypass surgery and treating congestive heart failure.

Ernst added: “It is also a humbling honor to have New Jersey’s physicians place Deborah at the top statewide in several categories. With the large number of hospitals in New Jersey it is a special honor to have those working in the field recognize the incredibly high quality of Deborah’s medical programs.
