Deborah Heart and Lung Center Announces New Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Player Spokespersons

Deborah Heart and Lung Center has announced two new former major league baseball player spokespersons, as the hospital enters into its second-year partnership agreement with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA).

Former Philadelphia Phillies All-Star catcher and this year’s Citizens Bank Park Wall of Fame inductee, Darren Daulton and former New York Mets All-Star pitcher Al Leiter have been selected as Deborah’s spokespersons for this year. They join former New York Yankees Hall of Fame pitcher Goose Gossage and former Phillies pitcher Mitch “Wild Thing” Williams, who have also represented Deborah.

The MLBPAA and Deborah joined as partners last year to help raise awareness of the dangers of heart disease and the need for on-going preventive care, as well as offering easy entrée to Deborah’s specialty services for MLBPAA members. Deborah joins an impressive roster of business and non-profit organizations that support the MLBPAA and offer special benefits to former—and present—major and minor league players. Daulton and Leiter will be filming commercials to air in the greater New York and Philadelphia markets to underscore the need for heart health and wellness.
