Deborah Announces New Director, Women’s Heart Center at Deborah

Deborah Heart and Lung Center has announced the appointment of new attending cardiologist Renee P. Bullock-Palmer, M.D., as Director, the Women’s Heart Center at Deborah.

Dr. Bullock-Palmer joins Deborah from St. Luke’s - Roosevelt Hospital Center of Columbia University in New York, where she completed a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging. She had previously completed a fellowship in cardiology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine in 2005. She was later appointed as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine. Dr. Bullock-Palmer received her medical degree from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of the West Indies in 1999. Dr. Bullock-Palmer holds medical licensure in numerous states including NJ, PA, and NY, as well as Jamaica.

She holds board certifications in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as subspecialty certifications in Nuclear Cardiology and comprehensive Adult Echocardiography.

Dr. Bullock-Palmer is a member of many professional associations including, but not limited to, the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and American Society of Echocardiography. In 2008 she was presented with an Award for Excellence by the American Heart Association. The following year, she was accepted as a scholar in a NIH/NHLBI sponsored research program, Summer Institute Program to Increase Diversity.

Dr. Bullock-Palmer has been involved in cardiology research, concentrating in African-American patients. Her articles and publications have appeared in many professional
journals including the Journal of Invasive Cardiology and the Journal of Cardiac Failure. She was honorably mentioned and published in the NY Chapter American College of Physicians Upstate Scientific Meeting annual publication for her work. Dr. Bullock-Palmer has presented her research findings at several medical conferences and is currently a reviewer for the Echocardiography Journal.
