Cardiac Catheterizations
Elective and emergent cardiac catheterizations are performed at Deborah. To schedule a catheterization, call Deborah's physician referral number at 1-800-214-3452. Patients may be admitted or transferred to Deborah for a diagnostic catheterization 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The majority of elective diagnostic catheterizations are outpatient procedures in which the patient arrives early in the morning, has the procedure, and is monitored in one of two ambulatory care units until discharge (usually 4 to 5 hours after the catheterization).
Deborah's Fast Track Catheterization Program enables referring physicians to send patients for cardiac catheterization without a preliminary ambulatory care evaluation at Deborah. To enroll a patient, call the physician referral number, 1-800-214-3452 and inform the operator you have a 'Fast Track patient.' Records or test results can be sent via mail or fax. Patients' blood tests can also be completed at Deborah. Patients are admitted for catheterization at 7am, and barring complications, are discharged by 5:30pm. Patients who do not qualify for Fast Track Catheterization typically include those with significant kidney dysfunction, or complex cardiovascular problems.
