About Your Stay

Preadmission Testing

For your convenience, whenever possible, the tests ordered by your physician are performed before you are admitted to the hospital in the Ambulatory Care Department by qualified technicians. Because the test results provide your physician more timely medical data, this facilitates your treatment and reduces your length of stay.

Registration

All patients scheduled for admission will receive a telephone call from one of our representatives to confirm your scheduled time/day prior to your admission date. Patients having same day procedures ie. Catheterizations, Bronchoscopies, etc. will also be called to confirm the appointment.

Whenever possible, our staff will pre-register you and have you sign your consents. Please bring your signed consents with you if they were mailed to you.

Consent Forms

When you arrive at Central Registration, you will be given a consent form to authorize treatment. This form must be signed by the patient or the person legally responsible for the patient. If you do not understand any form given to you, please ask for an explanation.

What to Bring

Bring as little as possible. You will need only a few personal items such as nightgown, bathrobe, pajamas, slippers and toilet articles. Please do not bring electrical equipment, only battery-powered items such as shavers are allowed. Cellular phones and personal computers are NOT permitted. These services may interfere with hospital equipment.

Please keep valuables at home or send them home with relatives. If this is not possible, they may be kept in the hospital safe. A representative can assist you with this. Only a small amount of money is necessary during your stay for items such as newspapers or TV rental. You may wish to bring your telephone calling card or a credit card number for placing non-local phone calls. The hospital cannot assume responsibility for any items brought to the hospital.
