About Your Stay

Rooms
Rooms are semi-private. Meal services for patients are as follows:

Breakfast: 7:05 am to 7:30 am
Lunch: 11:30 am to 12:00 pm
Dinner: 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm
Deliveries of flowers and mail are made daily, although flowers are not allowed in the critical care units. Telephones are located in each room. There is no charge for incoming calls, however, all outgoing calls must be made made collect or through a calling card. The use of cellular phones in not permitted inside the hospital. Please keep cellular phones off.

Patient Meals

When you arrive at Deborah you will be visited by a member of our Dietary Service Department. You will be told how you can choose your daily menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, according to your doctor's instructions. At any time throughout your stay you may ask your nurse to contact a registered dietician. They can advise you about the food you eat during your hospital stay and about adjusting your eating habits at home to meet your health needs. Ask about a dinner tray for your spouse. (There is a nominal charge for this service.)

Telephones

Telephones are in every room. This allows you to stay in touch with your friends and family. Calls are permitted between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm All non-local outgoing calls must be made collect, credit card, or third party billing. Public telephones are available on each floor, in the main lobby and outside the cafeteria.

Television

You can rent television service at a nominal cost per day. The nursing unit will provide information for obtaining this service. In addition to network broadcasts, the Deborah Patient Education Television Network is available with health education programs on a variety of subjects (rental not required). Program guides will be provided on the nursing unit.

The Chapel

Located on the first floor of the Lesser building for those of all faiths who wish to pray or meditate. Chaplain services are available by contacting the nursing coordinator or supervisor. If you wish, you can ask your own clergy to visit you.

Mail and Flowers

Your mail and any flowers sent to you will be delivered to your room each day. Flowers are not permitted in MICU or SICU. After your discharge, mail will be forwarded to your home and florists will be advised to return flowers for re-routing to your residence.
